Head of Cybernetic Surgery at Emory University Hospital, Dr. Leonard McCoy spends a lot of time slicing and replacing limbs, eyes, and doing the occasional regular surgery if demand calls for it. Fitted for a leg replacement himself, he knows the value of his work and appreciates what it does for people. When a few of the replacement limbs start acting up, he has to contact his provider, and asks to meet in person the engineer for Enterprise Cyber Enhancements to discuss possible improvements from the medical standpoint. He expects old and cranky and covered in wires, not the young, sky-eyed, tan youth he finds at the workbench. McCoy gulps. Jim Kirk smiles. The grouchy doctor and smartass mechanic meet at last.

This is part of a series of Jotun AU drawings I’ve done in the past. I imagine Thor has just been given Mjölnir, and he is young and reckless and eager to kill one of the terrible Frost Giants. He sneaks into Jotunheim, but the Jotun he meets is nothing like he expected. (Btw, the weasel is loki’s pet)Thor and Loki fight, but both are too curious about the other to actually want to kill each other. Loki ends up winning the fight, because Thor is so out of his element, this being the first time he’s set foot in Jotunheim.
They become unlikely friends and Thor keeps sneaking back into Jotunheim whenever he can. Their feelings for each other go beyond friendship, but they’re too young to fall in love.
They meet again several hundred years later when Thor ventures back into Jotunheim and crosses paths with Loki, but they don’t recognize each other at first and end up fighting again. This time Loki loses. They do eventually remember the days they spent together in their youth and quite possibly get something akin to happily ever after :)
